Trauma-Informed Aerial Yoga 50-hour Training

A comprehensive experience led by yoga therapists with more than 25 years of yoga teaching experience combined

Unlock the potential of aerial yoga and empower yourself to guide participants with compassion, sensitivity, and expertise. This immersion is designed for health care professionals, yoga therapists and yoga teachers seeking to expand their practice into aerial, with a dedicated focus on trauma-informed principles.

In this comprehensive training, you will delve into the nuanced art of creating a safe, supportive, and deeply healing aerial yoga environment. We will explore the vital distinctions between individual and group settings, ensuring you can tailor your approach to meet diverse student needs. Learn to design thoughtful and accessible aerial sequences that honor individual experiences, promoting not just physical well-being, but also emotional regulation and resilience.

Our curriculum will enable you to guide clients through aerial postures with an acute awareness of anatomical variations and potential sensitivities. You will gain valuable insights into setting up aerial rigs safely and securely, understanding the critical elements that contribute to a truly trauma-informed aerial practice.

Beyond the physical, this training will deepen your understanding of yoga philosophy, exploring how the wisdom of the Yamas and Niyamas can be integrated into your trauma-informed aerial yoga offerings. Because trauma disconnects the body and mind, this course focuses on healing this rift through aerial yoga. Discover how to cultivate a practice that fosters genuine connection, trust, and empowerment for all. This training, led by two certified yoga therapists, includes 36 in-person contact hours (8 a.m.-6 p.m. each training day) as well as 14 hours of video (non-contact) hours.

This workshop provides 50 continuing education credits for both the Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.  Required reading: “Therapeutic Yoga for Trauma Recovery” by Dr. Arielle Schwartz. You will be provided with an electronic copy of the training manual upon registration, and you will have immediate lifetime access to the self-study videos and presentations.
